Add additional managers
You can give a reviewee more than one manager on a review, so a second person can weigh in without a whole extra review cycle.
Before you get started
You need to be an account owner to change who reviews someone.
Every reviewee still has exactly one primary manager. Additional managers sit alongside them, up to 10 per reviewee.
Adding an additional manager
Open the reviewee's row, from the cycle's Overview tab if it is already running, or from the reviewee list during setup.
Select Edit managers.
Add the person as an additional manager, not the primary manager.
Select Save.
While a cycle is running and the reviewee's packet has not been shared yet, you can also add an additional manager straight from their review packet, using Add reviewers.
What an additional manager's review includes
An additional manager gets their own manager review, using the same template, instructions and due date as the primary manager's review.
The performance and potential rating questions stay with the primary manager only. An additional manager's review never carries them, and their absence does not stop that review from being submitted. The reviewee's official rating always comes from the primary manager's review, whoever submits first.
Additional managers see the review packet the same way the primary manager does: the self review, the primary manager's review, the official ratings, and the AI summary where the account has it.
Changing who is primary
A manager can be promoted to primary or moved to additional while the cycle is running, from the same Edit managers control. A review that has already been submitted cannot be promoted to primary, since it was never asked the rating questions.
Once a cycle is completed, or once the reviewee's packet has been shared, none of their reviewers can be changed, primary or additional.
Common questions
Can I remove an additional manager?
Yes, from Edit managers, as long as their review is still assigned rather than submitted.
What happens if managers disagree with each other?
Where a packet holds more than one manager review, the AI summary treats the primary manager's review as the review of record and calls out disagreement between managers as something worth exploring, rather than trying to settle it.
You're All Done!
The reviewee now has more than one manager weighing in, with the primary manager's review still the one that carries the official rating.
