Editing Data Tables
Update, customise, and save your Data Tables to suit your needs.
Introduction
Data Tables in Worknice are fully configurable, allowing you to tailor how your data is displayed and organised.
You can edit your tables at any time to:
Reorder columns
Add or remove fields
Apply and update filters
Sort your data
All changes can be saved, giving you a reusable, personalised view of your data.
Before You Get Started
Changes to a Data Table only affect your saved view, not the underlying data.
Getting Started
Navigate to Data Tables.
Open the table you want to edit.
Reordering Columns
To change the order of your columns:
Click and drag a column header.
Move it to your preferred position.
This allows you to prioritise the most important data.
Adding or Removing Columns
To update which fields are displayed:
Click the Columns button.
Select additional fields to add them to the table.
Deselect fields to remove them.
Use this to customise your table for different use cases (e.g. payroll, compliance, onboarding).
Applying and Updating Filters
Filters allow you to focus on specific groups of data.
Click the Filters button.
Add or adjust filters as required.
Apply the changes.
Examples include:
Filtering by location
Viewing only active employees
Segmenting by role or employment type
Sorting Rows
You can sort your table to quickly analyse data:
Click on a column header.
Toggle between ascending and descending order.
This helps you identify trends or prioritise actions (e.g. earliest expiry dates).
Saving Your Changes
Once you’ve updated your table:
Click Save changes.
Your configuration, including columns, filters, sorting, and layout will be saved for future use.
Best Practices
Keep tables focused on a single purpose
Use filters to reduce noise and improve clarity
Order columns based on importance
Save multiple tables for different workflows or teams
You’re All Done!
You can now customise and save Data Tables to create powerful, reusable views of your data.
