Templates

Performance review templates let you standardise performance reviews in Worknice by pre-configuring the questions and instructions for both the reviewer and the reviewee.


Before You Get Started

You must have the Reviews add-on enabled to use this feature.

Account owners can manage templates


Getting Started

  1. Navigate to the Performance section in the left-hand menu.

  2. Open or Add a Template.


Adding a new review template

  1. Click Add Template.

  2. Enter a name for your template. This creates an empty template.

  3. In the Reviewee tab:

    • Add your questions for the reviewee

    • Configure each question as required.

    • Add instructions to guide the reviewee.

  4. Switch to the Reviewer tab and repeat step 3 for managers.

  5. Click Save when finished.

Manager questions and responses can not be seen by the reviewee. You can add manager questions into the reviewee section.


Editing an existing review template

  1. Select the template you want to edit.

  2. Update the name, instructions, add new questions, or delete existing ones as needed.

  3. To rename the template, click Edit in the Details card on the right-hand panel.

  4. Click Save to confirm your changes.


Using markdown language to format your performance review templates

Markdown is used in review templates within Worknice to format text and create links to external locations. This allows for structured documentation, including headings, subheadings, and paragraphs, as well as the ability to link to files or other resources.

Customers often link to competency frameworks, policies or goal tracking platforms using markdown.
