Approve or reject a request
Find the requests waiting on you, read what's being asked, and record your decision so the request can move on.
Before you get started
You're asked to approve a request when its template names you, your role as someone's manager, or account owners. A request only reaches you once the steps before yours are approved.
Find requests waiting on you
When a step you're approving starts, you're told in your inbox and by email. The request also appears on your Home page under Your to-dos until you've decided.
You can open it from any of those, or from your Requests page.
Approve or reject
Open the request.
Read the answers and the approval steps so far, including any reasons earlier approvers gave.
Select Approve or Reject.
Add a reason if you'd like to. It's optional, and it shows on the request for everyone who can see it.
Confirm.
If you're listed more than once in the same step, one decision covers every place you're listed.
What happens next
If you approve, the request moves on. The next step starts, or, if yours was the last, Worknice carries out what the template says should happen once it's approved.
If you reject, the request ends there and the requester is told. Later steps never start.
In a step where any one approver is enough, the step can be approved before you get to it. When that happens the request leaves your to-dos and you don't need to do anything.
Common questions
Why can't I open the profile of the person the request is for? Being an approver doesn't give you access to someone's profile. View profile only appears if you can already see that person.
Can I approve a request about myself? No. If you're the person a request is for, you're never asked to approve it.
