What you can see about your team
What you can see about your direct reports is set by your account owner, one area at a time. This explains what those areas are and why two managers at the same organisation can see different things.
Before you get started
Only an account owner can change these settings. If you need access to something, this article tells you what to ask for.
Everything starts closed
Every area begins at No access. Nothing about your direct reports is visible to you until your account owner opens it up, and they do that one area at a time rather than all at once.
This is deliberate. It means access is granted on purpose rather than by default, and it is why your view may not match another manager's.
The seven areas
Area | What it covers |
|---|---|
Emergency contact | Emergency contact details |
Compliance | Compliance status and requirements, plus the badges on your team page |
Performance | Performance records and reviews |
Goals | Goals owned by a direct report |
Employment | Current job details and job history, including pay |
Leave | Leave balances and leave requests |
Confidential notes | Notes on direct reports |
Each area is set to No access or View only. Two of them can go further:
Confidential notes can be set to View and add.
Goals can be set to Full access.
The other five are view only when granted.
Two things these settings do not change
Leave and reviews assigned to you. You can still approve leave allocated to you and manage reviews assigned to you, whatever these settings say. That access sits outside them.
Paperwork. It is not one of these areas, so it cannot be granted here.
