Managing approvals
Approvals in Worknice allow you to ensure paperwork is properly reviewed before it’s assigned to employees.
Before You Get Started
Approvals can be requested on all Draft paperwork items, including:
Documents
Forms
Certificates
If your paperwork is not in Draft mode, an approval can no longer be attached to it
Requesting an Approval
Make sure your item is in Draft state.
If the paperwork has already been assigned, you’ll need to archive it and create a new draft.
Open your draft item, click Approvals, and select the people you’d like to request approval from.
Click Save.
This will create Draft approvals - which have not yet been sent.
When ready, click Request approvals.
Each approver will receive a notification.
You can set as many approvers as you wish

Managing pending and approved paperwork status
There are a number of places you can review approval status
Inbox
Anyone responsible for paperwork will receive notifications when documents are approved. You can filter these notifications.
Email alerts
Anyone responsible for paperwork will receive email notifications when paperwork is approved. These notifications must be turned on in order to receive them - they are turned on by default.
Approval status page
This is the most accessible place to manage approvals. Filter and group all paperwork out for approval and their status.
Paperwork overview
If you have any paperwork with approvals, they will appear in the In progress section of the paperwork overview page. Under Draft paperwork, easily see high level approval status.
Assigning approved paperwork
Once all approvals are complete, you can assign the paperwork.
What happens once an approval is created?
A notification is sent to the approvers
A notification is sent to the responsible person once the approvals are complete.
The paperwork can now be assigned to the person
