Worknice leave app

Getting Started

The Worknice Leave app is not activated by default. You can add it anytime from the App Directory.

The Leave app is considered an integration. Employees must be matched to this integration in order to use its features.


What is the Worknice Leave App?

The Worknice Leave app is a simple, modern leave management solution. It’s ideal if your payroll platform isn’t integrated with Worknice for leave requests, but you still want to manage leave requests in one place.

The Worknice leave app integrates into the same features as payroll leave integrations, including;

Employee Self-Service Leave Requests

Allow selected employees to request leave directly in Worknice.

Request elements include:

  • Leave type selection

  • Additional notes

  • Start and end dates

  • Attachments (e.g., medical certificates)

  • Leave approvals (optional enforcement for all requests)

Configurable options:

  • Start and end time (optional)

  • Leave hour total (optional)

Organisation-Wide Leave Management

Easily review all leave requests across the organisation (past and future) in the Leave section of the left-hand menu.

  • Account Owners and Employees can also view their own individual leave requests (past and future) under the Leave tab in their personal profile.

Organisation-Wide Leave Calendar

Increase transparency and planning efficiency with a centralised calendar that displays all approved employee leave.

  • Overlapping leave requests are highlighted to support better workforce planning.

Export Leave Requests

Export all organisation-wide leave requests (past and future) directly from the Leave section of the left-hand menu.

  • Simply click the Download button to export.


Adding Employees to the Leave App

To enable employees for the Leave app:

  1. Go to the Admin > People page

  2. Select the employees you want to add

  3. Use the Add to Integration bulk action and choose Worknice Leave


Matching Existing Employees

When setting up the integration, you’ll see a list of “Remote Records” (employees from your connected platform). You can match these to existing employees in Worknice:

  1. Next to the employee, click Connect > Connect to an Existing Person

  2. Find the matching person in your Worknice directory (names do not need to be identical)

  3. The connection status updates to Matched (pending)

  4. Repeat for additional employees

  5. Click Sync to start the data flow. The status will update to Matched


Configuring Leave Types

  1. Go to Apps and Integrations from the left-hand menu

  2. Open the Worknice Leave app

  3. Click Open App

  4. Configure leave types as needed
