Stages of a review

Worknice reviews follow a clear structure to ensure consistency, accountability, and transparency across your organisation. Understanding the lifecycle stages and workflow of a review will help you design a process that works for employees, managers, and HR alike.

Lifecycle Stages of a Review

Every review moves through the following stages:

Draft
The review is prepared and awaiting further action.

Assigned

The review has been assigned to the manager. The manager receives a notification that a new review is ready to complete.

Scheduled

The manager schedules a time to meet with the employee. The employee is notified of the upcoming review and can now access and respond to review questions.

Submitted

The manager marks the review as complete after meeting with the employee. The Responsible Person is notified and can take follow-up actions, such as issuing paperwork or scheduling additional meetings.

Processed

Once all follow-up actions are complete, the Responsible Person marks the review as finished.

Workflow of a Review

Here’s how the review process works from start to finish:

  1. Account Owner – Creates review templates.

  2. Account Owner – Assigns reviews: who is being reviewed, what template they will follow, and which manager is responsible.

  3. Account Owner – Triggers the reviews by formally assigning them.

  4. Manager – Takes ownership of the review. They schedule a time to meet with the employee.

  5. Employee – Receives a notification of the scheduled review, and can access and respond to review questions.

  6. Manager – Meets with the employee, discusses the self-review, and completes additional private questions as required.

  7. Manager – Marks the review as complete.

  8. Responsible Person – Is notified of completion and can take any necessary follow-up actions.

You're All Done!

By combining lifecycle stages with the review workflow, Worknice ensures reviews are structured, decentralised to managers, and transparent for employees.
