Replacing templates

Often you may need to replace an old template with a new one. Here's how to do it


Before you get started

If this is a new type of paperwork, please create a new paperwork type first.

You must be an Account owner to complete this process


Step 1: Find the existing paperwork type

  1. Go to Settings and then Click Paperwork types

  2. Search for the existing type of paperwork.

  3. Go into the relevant Paperwork type, and select the Templates tab

  4. Add template.

For contracts, the goal is to lock down terms and reference them in a dynamic term sheet rather than embedding all details directly.


Step 2: Access the existing type of paperwork.

  1. Search for the existing type of paperwork.

  2. Go into the relevant Paperwork type, and select the Templates tab


Step 3: Add the template

  1. Click the Add template button

  2. Select the format, for example Document

  3. Upload or configure your template


Step 4: Archive the superseded template

  1. Open the old template

  2. Hit the archive button

If the old template is part of a bundle, you will not need to add the new template into the bundle.


You're all done!

Your dynamic document template is now ready to use in Worknice.
